I do not know if USB is the way to go or the 3.5mm. My sound card is the Sound Blaster SE 5.1.. haha
So probably USB is the way to go right? Give me some upcoming or current Headsets that are deafening to the ears with crisp sounds and the juicy sound of explosions. (:
i don't think megalodon is coming out till summer of this year.
i myself recently got the razer caracharias, which is a brand new razer headset that came out and i like this headset. it's definitely made for comfort cause i can wear these for hours without them hurting. the cord is nice too, it's made of braided material that does not tangle. the microphone is of exceptional quality, except i think it might be picking up the sound, but that might just be cause i have things at high volume. uh.. its not noise canceling. regular 2.1, but i remember seeing some video of the razerguy saying it's 5.1.
for 80$, i dunno if i'd really buy this again, i'd consider this headset.
i saw the price for the new logtech headset... 200 dollars, for just a headset dude? who ever buys it is pretty damn stupid out of their minds or a hardcore gamer.
you should def consider what abstract is saying. my cyber snipa sonars blew out because i was listening at a decent volume, because surroundsound headphones do that, and ya i have the same headphones he recommended and the sound alot better than anything ive ownd. but ya you should get openair headphones... dosent need to be the audio technica ones if you not into purple or for what ever reason, grado and sennheiser also have ones in the 70-100 range that are probably really good. it was actually a pair of grados that convinced me that gaming headsets are a waste but the sr 60s and sr80s are suposidly not as comfterbul when worn for a long time, which is kinda important for gaming headphones.
Yeah, spite pretty much explained everything I didn't. The Audio Technicas are REALLY comfortable to wear, the headphones are surrounded with soo much padding its ridiculous.
Another thing about headphones that people don't know is that all of these "gaming headsets" are really just a lame marketing scam. A nice pair of stereo headphones with 50mm drivers can produce way louder volumes AND the same 3D-surround sound that those "5.1 surround sound headsets" can.
I've said that before and gotten flamed for it, but if you don't believe me ask any audiophile what's the truth...and i guarantee he'll tell you that stereo headphones are better for gaming. Audio quality will ALWAYS be better with bigger drivers, and anyone who argues against that is ignorant.
about 300 euros though :/ (they are all custom made, no taiwan work here)
but whatever you do
DON'T BUY 5.1/7.1 HEADPHONES, good stereo headphones do the job better then the headphones with small drivers that once in a hundred year tell you where someone is.
listen to abstract, he talks wise and knows what he's talking about.
HD555 would be the sennheiser option next to the ATH-AD 700 from audo technica. idk if id recommend getting the hd559 as its nearly a 200 dollar set and im kinda guessing it will be a set that really needs a good preamp to do it justice.
@abstract- ya lol the Megalodon is going to be such a huge waste of money, but im sure it will get great reviews.
Shit looks sooooo gooood.. Anyways.. Just got my Saitek cyborg headset, very comfortable, barely notice that I wear them. Very good sound. and VERY good mic. They might seem a bit plasticy but dude, these wont break
