Hello I have a pair of ATH m50 headphones, sometimes the majoroty of times when i plug them into my pc it shows them as speakers instead of headphones.
Just wondering why is this?
Is there any disadvantage of this occurring?
can i fix this from happening.

additional hardware specs : Win7 with asus P8z77v mobo and using the inbuilt sound card of the I/O.
well headphones are basically just small speakers built in a specific way, as far as I know it's the exact same thing to the computer.
shouldnt be a problem, becuase all it is detecting is an audio port out and the quality should be no different in any way, it all just depends on the ohms of empedance on your headphones. and as for fixing the issue of it not displaying headphones and the speaker symbol instead I dont know how to fix that. If it really upsets your OCD then go to the windows forums
