I saw many owners with that headphone and what they've said is that that one has an acceptable quality, but unless you don't care, the white gloss is smudge prone and many users are complaining about the headband being too flimsy.
Go and have a look at these reviews: http://www.zdnet.com/reviews/product/headphones/monster-beats-by-dr-dre-studio-headphones/33205806
PS: Whereabouts do you work now?
If you want to treat yourself stay away from beats or anything else gimmicky...do yourself a favor and put some research into it... head-fi.org as well
Something by Klipsch, KOSS or B&W would work very very well.

What type of music do you listen to? What source will you be playing the music out of (computer, computer with soundcard, pmp, etc.)? Will you be amping the headphones? What's your budget?
I have the klipsch image s4 ear buds and I must say they are small and amazing sound.
Only issue is the cord is very thin, but I haven't had any problems with that.
jeneraly speaking, "name brand" headphones (such as the Dr. Dre ones) DO have good sound quality, but if you compare a 100 pare of mid range headphones and the 300 dollar top tier name brand, the mid grade will sound better.... just go with whatever an audiophile suggests
Pretty much the standard starter headphones are the Sennheiser 555's (balanced) and the Audio Technica M50 (bass heavy).
im assuming you're talking about over the ear headphones. if thats the case, audio technica ATH-m50 http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M50-Studio-Monitor-Headphones/dp/B000ULAP4U or these badboys http://www.amazon.com/AKG-Acoustics-K-240-Studio-Headphones/dp/B0001ARCFA/ref=sr_1_1?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1310423029&sr=1-1
I've heard that the Shure SRH-440s and SRH-840s are good too. I tried the SRH-840s and Denon D2000s for a little bit and I wasn't too thrilled about how comfortable they were, but I didn't get enough time to really listen to them. If you're going with a more expensive route, I can vouch for the Sennheiser HD650s, they were much better than my Sony MDR-7506s. The MDR-V6s and MDR-7506s (a rebranded MDR-V6) were a bit too harsh on the treble and didn't have too much bass, and got pretty uncomfortable after a while. Other than that, they were fine, but I'm sure that there are better choices in that price range. As for sound cards, I wouldn't get one if you have a good onboard one, because I couldn't tell the difference between my 680i LT's onboard sound card and my Asus Xonar Essence ST, using my (supposedly) amp-sensitive HD650s. And that was with using ASIO, and flacs. I also wouldn't worry about getting a headphone amp on a sound card either, because my onboard sound card has plenty of power to drive even my HD650s, and the headphone amp on the Essence ST doesn't really do much for the sound quality. I've heard the beats aren't too good for the money, and that they break easily, but if you're dead set on their looks, brand, or sound, then it isn't too bad of a choice.
Um i just got an Electrical Apprenticeship, also i listen to alot of rock, house and electro music so looking for the best allrounder, and listening out of my iphone and ipod.
I just like the Dre's because they look sweet and not alot of others have that cool style that the Dre's have.

Audio Technica M50s sound like a good fit. They have the bass for electronic music but good mids for rock. Plus they can be driven easily by an ipod/iphone.
