Hdmi support on graphic cards

hey, i just wanted to know if my card doesnt come with an dvi-hdmi dongle and i just buy a similar one from the market, will it still be capable of hdmi ?

yes it dose support it only if u have a graphic card that support hd or very high resolution and i did the something to my 9800 gtx

ATi cards have onboard sound on their GPU's, Nvidia does not. You'll get audio from your computer, but you'll get nice video.

some if not most new nvidia cards come with an spdif outlet on the card, so youd have to connect it to your motherboard and then use the hdmi adapter, unless you odnt care about sound =P

what resolution is considered high def, anyway?

well anything like XXXXx720+ is High def, like 1280x720 you get me?

ok, my monitor is 1650 by 1080, does that mean if i had a blueray optical drive i could watch vids in full high definition?

well yes and no... you could indeed watch 720p, but 1080p runs at a res of 1920x1080 i do believe. So you might be able to and you might not, check your monitor to make sure it's HDCP Ready, just look up the model number in google and if it's not then you might have a hard time but if it is, then kudos :D
