Hey everybody!! I've just joined the community here, been watching the videos on the YouTube channel. Logan, Wendell, Max, and everyone else you guys have an awesome thing going on here. Keep it up!!
So, down to my problem. I recently bought an HDMI cable, to hook up my laptop to my TV without the hassle of VGA, resolution settings, etc. I bought it home, and it didn't work. I went back to the store, swapped it out for another one, and tried it again. Didn't work.
This time I thought, since 2 different cables didn't work, maybe my laptop or TV are bad. So I hopped over to my friend's house, borrowed the HDMI cable from her PS3, and it worked perfectly (with my laptop and TV). So I went back to the store and said "Look guys, this is the second cable I bought from here, and it doesn't work, and I'm getting tired of going back and forth" (they didn't have a place to test it in the store). So they went over, got a small flat LG TV (like 19 inches) with an HDMI port.
They plugged their desktop computer in (the graphics card on that had an HDMI-out port, unline my own desktop) and the freakin' thing worked!! The guy said that I must have a drivers problem, or something, and since the cable worked at his store, he refused to return my money. So anyway...
Do any of you guys know what could be wrong, and how I could fix it? I think drivers are weird, since it's just a cable (when I used my friend's cable, it detected the TV I have, and downloaded an audio driver for it, but it just won't work with this cable), but then again, I don't know that much about HDMI.
Sorry for the long message, but I wanted to explain the problem completely. I'd really appreciate any help!!
