Do the adapter work well and what would you recommend. I think I decided to buy the new AMD 480 for my son
Guessing It's abit of a crap shoot wether it works or not really. HDMI is alot easier to work with then DVI so im linient to say yes(DO NOT hold me on this though). I recently bought the RX480 myself, and i kind of gave up on the whole VGA to displayport conversion. HDMI is a whole other story though, my best advice is google it abit and get comfortable with it. If you get alot posts saying "hey mayn this solution worked perfectly", it properly does, if not it properly doesn't.
Personally i really dislike that we have all these standards, within standards for monitors/TVs.
I don't even own a HDMi tv in the house to trade for a VGA monitor,but my son's monitor does have DVi port,so is there an adapter from HDMIi to DVI
HDMI -> DVI are plentiful.
The video signal is more or less the same. HDMI just has extra audio signaling.
Awesome thanks for the replies Much appreciated
DVI to HDMI is well easy, and "should"(It does) work. You biggest problem is just wether or not it has those 4 annoying analog pins or not. If you're in doubt go without!.
Basically DVI and HDMI are the same, the two different standards just exists cause of good'ol amurrrican IP! where some company wanted a license fee for HDMI usage, so cheap Asian companies said ,,!,, you well create a new standard hense we have DVI, license was dropped within a short period, so DVI died, but is still alive.
