HDMI 2.1 KVM right for me?

Hello,
I’m wondering if the dual monitor HDMI 2.1 KVM w/EDID is right for me.

I have two devices: My gaming rig and work laptop with dock.

My main monitor is the LG 32GS95UE-B Dual mode (4k240/FHD480) VRR.
My second monitor is 2560x1080/60hz in portrait.

My GPU (3080 super) only has one HDMI out and 3x DP, and the laptop dock has one HDMI and one Displayport.
I assume the way to get this to work is to use the HDMI output from GPU and Dock for the main monitor and adapt to displayport for the second monitor.

Is there any flaws in this approach?
Is it likely I will need fiber HDMI2.1 from GPU to KVM + KVM to Main Monitor to ensure 4k240/FHD480 when using my gaming rig?

And lastly, am I wasting my money getting the 4 computer KVM?
TESmart has a 2x2 HDMI 2.1 KVM (HKS202-M24-USBK) and while I really would love to support L1 by buying something, it’s hard to justify the price if i’m not going to fully utilize the product.
(if a 2x2 HDMI 2.1 is in the works at all, i’d rather wait then buy the TESmart)
With all that being said, if anyone with a similar setup has experience with the HKS202-M24-USBK I would be interesting in hearing about it.

Thanks!
