Hi Guys,
so iv just purchased an X-Star DP2710 on the back of your review.
I now think its time for a graphics upgrade but I find myself in a little dilemma.
I currently have an HD6970 which is okay but I think it's getting a little old. My question is this, Now that AMD have fixed the crossfire micro stuttering issue with there new BETA driver 13.8, Should I buy another HD6970 at a MUCH cheaper price and go X-fire or should I sell the HD6970 and purchase a HD7970?
thanks for all your awesomeness.
Brandon
Sell the 6970 and pick up a 7950. A new 6970 will run you around $200 and you could probably pick up $75(maybe, I'm not an expert) for your 6970. The 7950 is only around $300
There is no doubt that xfire 6970's will outperform a single 7970, from all reports the beta is working well and has solved the issue for single screen gameplay. If you can score a 6970 for cheap then I say go for it.
Trust deejeta he knows whatbhe is talking about
there's also the power draw to think about, 6970s are by no means energy efficiant
I had this same delimma earlier this year and ended up going with Dual 6950's. The performance is pretty amazing and I think that this will last me until the 9000 series cards, and it only as 140 bucks to add a second one.
Thanks for the feeback guys, looks like im going to go 6970 crossfire ......lets hope it rocks
