The HD Radeon 5870 is supposed to Run a RV870 core.


Sources say it will be 40nm, alot smaller than most other cards, yet about 1.5x as powerfull as the HD Radeon 4870, at about 1.5 teraflops. If this is the 5870, then the x2 will kick ass.

Of course there will be a 5870. Maybe it won't exactly be called that, but it wouldn't be surprising that ATi is already developing it. The crazy competition between Nvidia and ATi and the constant demand for new innovations by the public is a clear driving force. But dang, I hope they work on the heat issue. Maybe by then I can take out my 9800 GTX+ and put one of those babies in my P45 board. I think it would be more along the lines of Q3-Q4...unless they decide to skimp on it completely and only do a die shrink or something.
