HD 7950 vs GTX 660 ti [120hz Support?]

Hey Guys,

So I'm building a new PC rig, and I was all set on buying the AMD card but then I checked some "Versus" comparisions between the AMD and Nvidia cards and was surprised to see that in most cases the GTX 660 ti was either 5% ahead or 5% behind. I am a traditional ATI / AMD fanboy and would always like to stray towards their stuff but in this case I have 1 reservation.

I have an Asus (asus vg236h)120hz monitor and I had problems in the past with the HD6870 as the drivers had no options to swtich to 120hz as it didn't recognise the monitor as being capable of such a high refresh rate. I had to go out and buy a GTX 560 instead as Nvidia's drivers natively support 3D (with 3d Vision) and therefor 120hz.

My question is for anyone who has the newer AMD card and Drivers, is their improved support for 120hz monitors with the latest catalyst drivers or should I just play it safe and go with the Nvidia card?

Cheers again guys and have a good1,

Reg

AMD is always the catching on phase in terms of driver while Nividia is always ahead of it.

Seems that way alright, always have to find tricked out ways to do something that should be naturally implemented in the driver software

I'd say go with the Nvidia card.  Their 3D Vision is phenomenal, even though it's like $100 for the software and everything

AMD has very good beta drivers that will give the 7950 performance close to the 670...
