was wondering if anyone can help was gatting high temps on 6970 x2 so reapplied thermal paste plus changed thermal pads now getting crazy high temps while in game and getting severe tearing and artifacts have i damaged gpu or using wrong pads if so what thickness should they be which brand is best for 6970 gpu
Oh dear, sounds like you put thermal pads on the RAM chips that are too thick, the the core chip of the card didnt have good contact with the heatsink.
First thing is to not use it, I think the 6970 uses very thin thermal pads (mine did anyway) you shouldnt even of had to change them, they are only for the RAM, they have nothnig to do with the core temperiture of your card.
