HD 5870 RAM problem

Hey guys, Recently I've noticed that with my Sapphire Radeon HD 5870 1GB sometimes when I install games and it scans my system, some games detects my graphics card as only having 768mb RAM. I don't know how this could be unless 256mb of the RAM on my card has broken somehow? I don't know how though. I have overclocked the RAM on it from 1200mhz to 1300mhz but I'm certain that this is a safe overclock on it especially considering I have a custom cooler.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, please only reply though if you know what you're talking about. Thanks in advance!

^download this and post up some pics

its probably an incorrect detection, even GPU-z isn't always right even if its the latest version

dont worry... i have had older games say i have 0mg of ram... i remember one old rts game said i had -1024mb.....

probubly the game... like everyone else said... GPU-z

Yes I already checked GPU-z and it says 1024mb. However Call of Pripyat which is a game optimised for my particular graphics card says 768mb. SO I don't know...

Games that say it's 768mb

GTA IV

Battlefield 2

Halo Custom Edition

STALKER Call of Pripyat

Really don't know guys because new games and old games both say it...
