I want to install fedora on a pc that I just built. When ever I click install to hard drive it takes forever to get to the installer (easily 5+minutes). It finally got to the installation summary page. When I picked my installation destination it has been stuck on saving storage configuration for almost 10 minutes now. Any ideas on what could be the problem? I am using a sandisk extreme usb drive and installing onto an adata su800 ssd.
Either the SATA port on the mobo is going bad, the SATA cable is going bad, or the drive you're installing on is going bad.
I had a similar issue once and it turned out to be my SATA port on my mobo.
Try switching things around, it may just be loose.
Ok thanks I will try that out.
It was my usb drive . Really disappointed because I paid a lot of money for it. 64GB rip. Thanks for the help. No way did I think it was my usb drive since I bought it 3 months ago. Hopefully I can get it exchanged on amazon.
Sorry to hear that. I also have had bad luck with sandisk. I stay away from them.
I have only had Kingston products since then, and the only ones that died are the ones that went through the washing machine more than three times!
Also, could you mark the thread as solved, so people will know that you're question has been answered? Thanks in advance.
