So, i took the Lounges advice and bought Mass Effect. The only problem is, is that the start menu wont load. When i am in steam i click play and a window pops up
I click play, and nothing happens.
these are my specs.
Dell Latitude 3440 - Core i3 4010U / 1.7 GHz - Windows 7 Pro 32-bit / 8 Pro 32-bit - pre-installed: Windows 7 - 4 GB RAM - 500 GB HDD - DVD-Writer - 14" wide 1600 x 900 / HD+ - Intel HD Graphics 4400
I know they suck, but the 360 ran mess effect right?
It just wont even start.
Try navigating to the exe and running it in compatibility mode. That worked for the version which came in the Triology Pack I own.
Edit (Quote from Steam store):
* WINDOWS VISTA OR WINDOWS 7 USERS: Launching “Mass Effect” from Steam requires the setting “Run as Administrator”. If the User Account Control feature of Windows Vista is enabled, launching “Mass Effect” from Steam will result in failure. For users with User Account Control enabled, launch Steam using the “Run as Administrator” option or launch from the windows shortcut.
As far as I can remember, Mass Effect 1 needs to run as admin.
=> Navigate to your Mass Effect executable, right click it and select "execute as admin"
FYI: There are a bunch of texture mods on nexusmods, you should install them for better graphics.

@CrossCarbon: I think admin is the only setting that is required.
Thank you both, but uh where is the .exe?
[Drive Letter]|:[Installation Path]\Steam\SteamApps\common
Edit: At least, I think that is were it is.
Ok it worked Thanks!!
Have fun!
Good Luck.
Thanks! I am loving mass effect so far!
