Having problems setting up dual monitors

so like the title says, i'm having problems setting up 2 monitors, this normally is the easiest thing, you plug it in, set it, ur done. but that's not the case i'm having here.

it seems to be a hardware problem cause i tried everything in windows and have reinstalled drivers, another reason i think it's hardware is because normally, when you boot ur computer the boot screen (or bios screen) shows up on both monitors, but it doesn't do that, it only shows up on my main monitor (or which ever monitor was plugged in first)

i know both monitors work because if i only have one plugged in, they work and both monitors are detected in device manager, i've also tried using both DVI-D and VGA cables.

not sure if this info is needed but the video card is a BFG 9800GTX OCX in SLI

if anyone knows what my problem is please help me

PS: one thing i haven't tried is taking the 2nd card out cause i'm lazy and i don't see that being the problem anyways

i rember that if u have dual nvida cards

u can not have dual monitor support

AM I WRONG

one thing that came to mind, it wouldn't be because i'm using a Tri-SLI bridge but only having 2 cards right?

i don't see that being the problem cause if that's the case, how would you have triple monitor setup, right?

i dont rember i rearly rember hearing that when there are dual cards u cant do dual monitor support

Have you gone to the Nvidia control panel and tried doing it from there?

u have to disable sli to use dual monitors

yea ^^^^ it suxs lol, SLi does not support dual moniters :-(

Oh. Wow. That.....sucks big fat hairy gorilla balls.

cant use sli with dual monitors, you have to disable it.

ok, thanks guys, i'll try that

how do people do triple monitor setups?

put in 2 cards, but dont set them up in sli and dont connect an sli bridge.

i think.

so yeah, it worked after i disabled SLI, i think that's messed

sli means no dual moniter

ya thats why id rather just have a larger monitor over 2 ones. it is kinda lame but i guess you can always just enable sli before playing a game and leave it off the rest of the time.

>SLi

>Dual monitors

As soon as I read that I lol'd.

You need to wait for the epic drives from Nvidya.
