i LOCKED my 2500k down to never go above 3.5ghz then i repeated both tests. and locked it to 3.7ghz and 4.2ghz i do NOT know if this screenshot of the 6950x was locked to 3.5 or not. Talk about Generational Improvements .....
@Logan@wendell am i just missing the whole point again, is this a bad method to test single core improvement ?
I can only say that chips from intel don't mean anything unless you're doing a lot on one load.
A 12 core xeon system VS 6950X running a full load for 6 hours? The xeon will win. Logically Intel has just been making up random things to make the price higher. I am almost willing to blow 1800 bucks on a dual xeon system that is 3-4 years old just to make a 6950X system sit down and shut up.
Actually, no idea. Didn't really care about. Its not a gaming machine or something, so.... But for comparison: Pauls Hardwares 6950X @ 4.3GHz scored close to 2200.
16 cores sandy bridge @ 3.0GHz vs 10 cores Broadwell E @ 4.3GHz. Not a lot different at all.
side note, anyone know how to get rid of this thing ? or move it a foot off to the right ? its sitting on top of my user interface and makes it a bitch to click on edit line or reply
