Haswell Motherboard Advice

Hi, so I'm kinda lost when it comes to motherboards and which ones have features I really need and which ones are just flair. I'm hoping someone can help me.

These are the two I'm currently looking at:

Asus Z87-Plus - http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z87PLUS/

Asus Z87-Pro - http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z87PRO/

The system I'm building will be:

  • MSI HD 7950 Twin Frozr III Boost Edition
  • i5-4670K
  • Corsair Carbide 540
  • XFX Pro Series 650W XXX Edition Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply
  • TeamGroup Vulcan GOLD 8GB PC3-17100C11 2133MHz
  • Corsair H100

I'm hoping 4-way optimization will get me to 4.8ish. Is the Pro necesary for that kind of overclock or is the Plus fine for that? I'm not sure of the necessity of the extra heatsinks and stuff on the Pro so any insight would be great.

If neither of these are good for my requirements please do let me know, as the motherboard is essentially the only thing I don't do much research on and really have no clue at all.

well, i thought to remember that JJ said that all those new asus boards would be good for a basic overclock, the pro has only a bit more feutures like onboard W-lan. what is pritty nice...

if you tempting to go for a crazy overclock then i would look at one of theire higher ends boards, like a Maximus series boards, or the sabertooth.

Not a crazy overclock, but something along the lines of what they achieved in their 4-way video. I'm guessing the Plus is fine for that then?

the Z87 plus has a 8 powerphase design and digi vrm, soo yeah it should be able to do some basic overclocks.

The pro has 12 powerphase and digi vrm. thats the diffrence i could find about overclocking capability´s, but i think you will fine with both of them. for a basic overclock.
