I'm looking to get a new laptop and I've kind of narrowed it down to either a Sager or a Gigabyte. I was leaning toward a Sager until I saw that the Gigabyte named in the title claimed to be much lighter and have a 7 hour battery life. Does anyone have any experience with these? Would you recommend going with the Sager? Any other random comment? I'm in research mode right now and any insight would be greatly appreciated.
With any "gaming" laptop the battery life is pretty much going to be crap. Even with Nvidia Optimus it's still iffy because as soon as the graphics card turns on the battery starts draining.
Anyways, what are you planning on doing with the laptop? If you're out and about with it all the time you're going to want the lighter one (trust me, laptops get heavy real quick), but if it's going to be a move-it-once-in-a-blue-moon laptop, then the more powerful one would make more sense.
As for brands, they're both good. Clevo/Sager is an OEM for quite a few companies if I'm not mistaken, whereas Gigabyte is 'new' to the laptop scene, but they have a much larger market presence as a whole in the grand scheme of things (if we're talking about computers in general).
Mostly gaming, but I'd like it to be a little more portable this time around. I currently have an ASUS G74SX-BBK11 and it's pretty massive. That's why I'm kind of leaning towards a 15" screen this time.
