Hardware questions Re: 10GbE Switch

Currently I have a

  • D-Link DXS-1210-12SC
    12-port SFP+ 10GbE Switch

Am I wrong to think that SFP28 is ‘more efficient’ of a protocol…?

There’s a ‘Top of Rack’ Switch that I was thinking of getting …

QUESTONE2™ D3030

Also, does anyone know if this model is loud…?

I can’t find ANY information online from anyone … but the specifications look good.

Anyone have any suggestions…?

There are a lot of switches with identical specs. This is a “white box” switch built around a Broadcom Trident 3 ASIC. It is not likely to be quiet.

The difference between SFP+ and SFP28 ports is that SFP28 can run 25GbE. If your existing devices use 10GbE then there is no improvement inherent in connecting them to SFP28 ports.
