I have a 780 ti, 4930-k intel processor and I want to do a hardware passthrough. I was wondering what sort of extra graphics card I could get to run Linux while the 780 ti runs windows?
You are probably better off searching for threads related to this topic and digging up information from there, a lot of this type of stuff has already been discussed by numerous people.
Really for Linux you can use whatever suits your purpose, makes no difference for what your wanting to do as long as it is powerful enough for your needs, I know that's vague but so is your question because your not really telling us what your planning to do in either OS.
Your CPU supports VT-d and VT-x so it's fine but you need to make sure your MB is going to work for the pass through, then you'll have to do a little extra configuration in your settings to fool the Nvidia drives that it isn't running in a virtual environment which isn't a very big deal but does come with a slight performance loss, I would recommend that you do not use another 780Ti because it's sometimes difficult to separate the cards in IOMMU because they will have the same IDs but it is doable also.
