For several years now, I've had increasing interest in creating my own machines and gadgets with small, cheap logic boards such as Arduino or Raspberry Pi. I want to do things like turn some junk and an old motor into automated window shutters, combine an old PC power supply with an arduino to create a timer for a lighting system, make a home intercom out of some speakers and microphones, that sort of thing. Will Tek Syndicate ever make videos on this sort of basic, creative hardware hacking that involves building a system to suit your specific needs? The only reason I haven't dived in and attempted to figure this stuff out on my own is that I currently have a very limited revenue stream¹ and can't afford to throw a bunch of money in the wrong direction.
I think this sort of hacking fits in with Tek Syndicate's goal of spreading the flame of truth and knowledge across the world, such that everyone can be more self-sufficient if they apply themselves. This will also help set you apart further from other tech shows such as LinusTechTips. The DIY and How-To section of the YouTube channel are fairly barren, and almost all of them have more to do with software than with hands-on-hardware hacking. Basic things like the tools we should have, where to start, how to make electrical timers or read sensor inputs, where we can get the necessary parts, that kind of thing, would be very welcome. Thanks to the entire Tek Syndicate team for all that you currently do, and I hope to hear what you have to say about this idea.
In demonstration of my support, I will now click five third-party advertisements here on the website. I wouldn't do this for just any group of awesome people² ;)
