My Steelseries WoW gaming mouse is on its last leg and I'm looking for a replacement. My problem lies with finding one that has the features that align with my play style. I use the thumb d-pad and the right side rocker-switch continuously. I do all of my movements/targeting/camera adjustments and so on with my right hand and use a g13 with my left for all of the action buttons. (I only go the the keyboard if I need to type in chat.) Most of the mice I can find for MMO's have a plethora of thumb buttons but no real forward/back/left/right layout. Any suggestions would be awesome. Thanks.
So this one would or wouldn't meet that requirement?
My worry with those is that I'd have to discreetly press the buttons to move. As I play now I rest my thumb on the pad and sort of just roll my thumb one way or another. I still use the older version.
I realize I'm probably being persnickety at this point.
If you want a stick, you could just pick up one of the various gamepads like the razer nostromo, but you'd have to use your other hand for movement
That sucks man. I know what it is like to enjoy a certain type of hardware and then to have it die with no replacement.
I will say this, I had the razer naga molten and 2014 edition mouse.
When they were working.... (yeah razer sucks) I was able to actually use the buttons on the side as a D pad and I was even able to go as far as playing skyrim with JUST a mouse.
I only did it for the hell of doing it, but it really was not all that bad.
You could easily disable some of the button and have something that basically works exactly like a D pad.
I don't know of anything quite like that, have you seen the Corsair M95? I really hope you find something you like. I use a g502 for my daily driver and have gotten a lot of my friends to purchase it who love it, but it's not going to allow you to move quite the same as having a setup like that. Oh and what about the razer hex?
I found the button press to be far too light on the hex. you'll miss click it all the time, at least until maybe someone gets used to it.
I might check out the M95.
