I just recently built my computer (about a month and a half ago) and it has been working fine. I have windows 7 installed on a 500 GB Western Digital Caviar Blue, and I recently purchased a 1 TB Western Digital Caviar Blue. When I boot up my PC, only one of my hard drives can be detected at one time. I checked both hard drives separately and they both are plugged in, but for some reason, when the two are connected simultaneously, only the 1 TB HDD is detected. Any suggestions on what to do?
>Try different sata ports
>Enable AHCI - if boots and both detected then BSOD's on windows load, change back to IDE mode. Get into windows and do the registry hack here. Then reboot into the BIOS, set to AHCI mode. Reboot and both drives should appear (note that you will have to initialize the hdd before it shows up in 'My Computer').
