Hard drive oppinions

some of you may know i've been having issues with my laptop hard drive, old one seems to be going bad, new one (purchased ~6 months ago, but hardly used) appered to be sratched while i was fixing the transfered windows installation, too old to rma through newegg and i don't have the time or patience to try to get a new one through samsung

so the same drive is on sale at the moment (for about 7 hours) for $40 for a 320gb, it's a seagate momentus drive branded  by samsung, when i looked the last time it seemed like it was good quality and the cheapest i could get that would be an ok upgrade from my 60gb drive (it needs to hold win7 and osx instalations), if you could find me anything better or cheaper it would be much appreciated, but my question is do you think that this drive should work (i'll make sure to do everything right way so even if it fails i can rma it through newegg), or should i have learned my lesson and find something else

i looked a bit on amazon and found this http://www.amazon.com/Western-Digital-Drives-Notebook-WD5000LPVX/dp/B00C9TECFO/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1385343607&sr=1-3 $10 more that i'd rather avoid, however it's wd and significantly higher capacity

also black friday is just around the corner, my current drive could probably last the week and if it doesn't i could barrow someone else's temporarily, and i already have the drive cloned onto my desktop, would anyone think the drive i need would go down much?

i would just wait tell black Friday / cyber Monday, because there will be sure to crazy deals on mechanical drives
