Hackintosh without a mac

I want to load OS X Mountain Lion on one of my home pc's to try my hand at a hackintosh. I have checked and 2 of the home pc's meet the requirements to run Mountain Lion and i happen to have a copy from a mac that recently died. however ever tutorial i read says it requires a mac to make the boot thumb drive and all my systems run Windows or Linux, this is why im trying to do this. Is there a way to do this without having a Mac?

You can prepare an installer with linux. As far as I'm aware, it's a fairly manual process still. I've been meaning to get around to scripting the ordeal, but haven't yet.

Basically you need hfsutils or hfsprogs or something like that and 7zip to be able to extract files from the installer DMGs. I followed instructions I found on InsanelyMac and they worked pretty flawlessly. There are a few modifications to the installer you must make, like installing chameleon and inserting a couple of kexts, and I like to do a little trick where you replace the bless utility on the installer with a script to copy the kexts to the installed system and install chameleon to it as well. You might want to look at some of the files in this for ideas.

I have no idea if it would work (I never did anything with hackintosh), but you can try downloading a virtual machine image (big torrent trackers have them) with installed OS X to do your flash drive thing.
