The 970 is hackintoshable but from what I've read it is spotty at best and not recommended. The R9 290 and 290x are though. Apple moved away from using Nvidia products so the driver support isn't there. OSX likes AMD though.

Sorry about that! I was just playing around.
Now, regarding your card, I think that theu recommend a 750W minimum for the 290 so you might wanna to look into that.

I did some more research and the r9 290 does work but you have to do a slight modification in the os. The 290x on the other hand does work out of the box from what I have seen. I watched this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWeABF7sTB8 and then read up on a couple forums and its supposed to be ok. But I put no guarantees on anything hackintosh.

the 280x or 285 will those work out of the box because the r9 290x cost to much for is budget or any card that work out of the box under 320$ us 400$ cad

The 280x is just a rebanded 7970, so the 280x should work, but it won't show the boot-up screen (everything else should work though).

I can't find anyone saying that the 285 does or doesn't work. I would just go with the 280x frankly.
