Cooling performance thoughts?
I have the 80i 100i 110 - there all pretty much the same performance wise the 80i is a little bit louder because I keep the fan rpm higher.
the only thing I hate about them is the crossair link software
1) never accurate (have to guesstimate the numbers when setting it up)
2)won't even open if you have windows 8 (unless you go to there forums and find the fix)
However its good having an on-board controller. I can delete the software after and not really have to worry about it or have it run in the background.
Well, I guess it's good that they all perform the same... Makes it easier for people to build in a variety of form factors; Though I was hoping the 100i or 105 would be a little better to make me feel good about my purchase.. Ah well maybe I'll just keep looking, not many options will fit inside my Bitfenix Prodigy though ;P
Thanks for the info man
I think the 105 preforms "0.5 to 2" degrees better in some testing then the 100i online (reviewed by people who get paid by corsair)
If that makes you feel better :)
Haha yeah, just a little ;P
Hmmm, happen to know anything about NZXT Kraken X41?
I've found the H100i to performe slightly better than the H80i, i bought the h100 to replace the h80i and was kinda saddened to see my temps only drop a couple of degrees :O(
I have the x40 - the x41 is the same just with a variable speed pump.
It's a great little unit but if you want to OC past 4.4 ish then get the x61 - its the same as the H110
Their software is hit and miss though. Under Win 8/8.1 it crashes ALL THE TIME due to a dotnet error
CAM is still a waste of time.
Well to be completely honest I won't even be overclocking I just don't really like stock coolers, at all really.. Not entirely sure I could get the x61 to fit inside of my case, the X40/41 is definitely something I'm considering though!
Edit: Yeah no, to get the X61 to fit I'd have to drill some new holes... Absolutely easy to do but I have zero confidence I could do it ;P
Well the x40/x41 is a 140mm rad - there is an x31 120mm rad I believe if you are pressed for space
I'm 98% positive I can get the X41 to fit.. the 2% is that im worried it might run into the gpu xD
