I had a H80 for 3-4 years before it started running hot, 40 - 50, prior to that it was at about 20 - 30 between idle and load. I RMAed it, and it took nearly a month to receive the replacement, even after they received the bad unit. Which meant I went out and bought a CM Evo 212 for temp use. I was getting between 30 and 50 idle and load. I finally received the replacement H80 unit (H80i) yesterday. So I put it in. I am receving terrible temp. Close to or worse than the stock cpu cooler that came with the cpu. I dont want and really shouldnt have to wait another month to get the freaking replacement. When I sent them the bad unit, it took literally 3 days for them to receive and a month to send the freaking replacement. I am going to have to fill out a brand new RMA ticket, wait until mid next week before I even will receive a reply. Then by the release of Godzilla I will ship it out. They will receive it the following Monday and take a month to sort shit out. I am planning on just buying another brand of AIO cpu coolers. Any ideas? I am done with corsair, as their support is shit like most other companies. However EVGA isnt so bad, considering they are 24/7. I sent a bad GTX580, took a few days for them to receive it and a few days after to receive the replacement, all in all about a week and a half. I dont see why companies like corsair charge premium prices for ram, chasis', and other parts and have absolute shit support. I know most companies choose to,to save a bunch of money. However this literally causes people to go without essential functionality. I feel I should be compensated on the EVO 212, because it did take them a month. They claimed due to the delays they would upgrade the shipping. Its amazing their upgraded shipping is a week long shipping, because they claimed they sent the replacement last thursday. Anyways, sorry about my off topic rant, just looking for options and possible replacements.

Additional, I am using HW Monitor and the provided Corsair Link software for checking CPU temps. I also am about to install the ASUS AI Suite as a third source.

I have the thermaltake water 2 extreme (thick rad) and it's doing a fantastic job. If you want air I'd recommend you a noctua D-15 (getting temps close to my W2E and a bit quiter on my brother's PC). you will have no problem with your graphics card because the first slot in your motherboard is one slot lower.. I believe you won't have any problem with your ram, but you might want to check it in noctua's website.

If you are looking for AIOs: I've heard good things about the coolermaster glacer, swiftech H220, NZXT kraken is also nice (but not as good as the H220 and glacer)

I generally don't like single 120mm AIO for CPU because they are not that great in general.. On graphics cards they are nice, but not so much on a CPU..

Thanks I am  going with the Noctua or the NZXT you mentioned. For AIO it probably will be the NZXT, but I was also looking at the Zalman solution and it appears to be the best in terms of cooling.

I am wondering if the read out temps are incorrect with the programs I am using. Corsair Link and HWmonitor state the cpu is running at 35 - 40 on average now. Last night they said 50. I installed coretemp and it states 20. Also I did just notice HWmonitor has two cpu temps. The first temp is placed under a label called temperatures and it is the higher temp (35 - 40). The other is labeled using the actual processor name and it is 20 degrees, the same as coretemp. Corsair link though is the same as the latter HWmonitor reading (35 - 40). Which is the actual temp of my cpu? They are widely different reading given a 20 to 30 degrees difference. Here is a screenshot of the three programs side by side for comparison. I need to know which reading are likely to be the correct ones, it is crucial for overclocking and what not.

It is difficult to see the temps so here is the direct link. https://bayimg.com/baomHaaFB

Just saying corsdair tend to have a bit better performance on NZXT and are the direct compeditor. While the new Noctua cooler D-15? out performs any AIO on the market, The corsair h110 sits half a degree under it while the following cooler 100i and highest kraken are about 2 or 3 degrees lower. Am I correct? Im going off memory. But you get better price to performance with the noctua if you can fit it in your system that is.

Don't expect miracle temps in the summer. Just this month. Outside is 18c, inside the motherboard is 30c. So expect it to idle at 35-40c. Inside I finally hit max temp of 38-42c on idle with (kraken x60) when i usually hit 32-35c load in early spring a month ago. So summer, expect 10-20c increase in temps.

ps. are you OCing it too? Cuz I am with mine 4.4 OC over 4.0 on amd 8350.. Switch to custom DIY water cooling parts.

It is running at stock 3.5 I believe. I also am running a closed room system during the day, and at night open. As in I have a AC running at 70-74f in my bed room. Durning the night I open the windows and have a dehumidifier running (this is new to me though, because I went out and bought it thinking it would keep the humidity down from outside air.) I live in Ohio, one of the most humid states I have ever been in.

woah quite high for the temps to be at idle. have you tried to reapplying thermal paste  seen any difference? also try to take off the side panel even though it screws up your cooling but it will decrease the temps by a couple of degrees
