H100i vs x60

I'm trying to upgrade my 8350 cooler to Water-cooling and was wondering if the extra money going to be worth it to get the kraken x60 than a Corsair H100i?? I have got an NZXT 410 case and with the X60 I have to do a bit of modding on the case to fit it and a push and pull config wouldn't be possible. I am OCing my CPU and at 4.5ghz it gets really hot my current phanteks 12dx cant cool it enough even at max it still goes up to 70+ with prime95 ( I do stop the test when it gets to that point ). I'm in the UK btw so the prices might vary.

Thnaks,

X60 is better then the H100i  ☺

Cool2 thanks I was just wondering because the H100i are on sale at the moment at £84 whilst the x60 is still at £131 so price differenece is quite a bit.

well the H100i is not bad either, but the stock fans that come with the H100i are rubbish, they cool fine, but the noice is terrible, so if you want a quiet cooler, then you need to buy diffrent fans for the H100i like those SP120 quiet edition, with less performance,  or some noctua NF-12 fans, but those also cost you extra money.

cool2 I think I might get the H100i with noctua NF-12 fans, they cost like £16 at the moment and if I get 2 it should still be cheaper than the X60, I might be able to get another 2 if it fits with the Phantom 410 with a push pull config but it will cost about £16 more than the X60. Would a push pull config on H100i better than the X60?

IMO it's not worth going push-pull, only about 2 C difference. So just go with pull into case (air from top to bottom) if you can access the top of radiator to clean off dust. Or go pull out of case if you can access the bottom of rad easily. But since heat rises, it would be better to pull or push air out of the case toward the top.

well I guess I found my answer then :) thnx a bunch :) I might get the noctua fans after awhile to not spend too much in one go :) I'll just have to live with the stock fans for a month or a week :) thanks for the input :) I was looking forward to the nzxt LED on the pump but the corsair ain't so bad either :)

yes the nzxt is better like i said but you also pay the price for it.

in a phantom 410, you won´t be able to use pushpull. there is no room for it.

Glad to know :) btw does anyone know the exact modding that needs to be done with the 410 to fit the x60?? and "IF" and only "IF" I might change my mind on getting the x60 do I need to buy different fans for the rad??or the stock fans that comes with the x60 good enough already?? I really am leaning on the x60 more and more but I just don't want all the trouble and spend too much if I can get the same performance or even better on the same price range or even cheaper price ;/

Oh is there other fans that has the same performance with the NF 12 but in black or white colors?? The noctua colors doesn't look too good on my build with a Blue, white, and black theme.

NZXT fans are great as far as i know. but just look if the you can fit the kraken X60 in the phantom 410. because its a 280MM rad. ☺

If you cannot fit the 280MM rad, (i will research it for you) then you could also put some 120mm nzxt fans on the H100i rad, or corsair SP120 quiet edition fans. But the sp120 quiet edition probably perform less. Noctua fans are much better, probably NZXT fans also.

Edit: support guide krakan X60 see pdf below.

The pdf shows that the X60 should fit in the phantom 410, but you have to do some modification on the mounting holes in the top of the case!!

Thats good to know but I can't do any drilling without the proper tools (don't have drills atm) and I'm hesitant about modding the case with new holes. What nzxt fans would you recommend??does it have to be pwm ones??
