Hi guys i'm using the maximus vii gene mother board and I have a question about the fan cables.
The H100i has one PWM fan lead (with a single wire) that needs to be on the CPU fan header, I then plugged my 2 radiator fans into the CPU optional slot via a splitter cable. Using Ai suite 3 I can not control the CPU and CPU optional speeds independently and this means my rad fans are normally running rather loud. Do I need to have the H100i cable plugged into the CPU fan header or can I place my 2 rad fans on those headers and not use the H100i PWM cable and control it through the immensely buggy corsair link software?
This is what I did :
The pump cable goes into a useless header eg cpu fan opt .
The fans are plugged into the cpu fan header with a y cable .
I am running nf-f12 , So in BIOS I set the fans to PWM , set yours to DC if using stock ones .
Go into fanxpert , and do the "auto tune fans" .
Then you can make a fan curve for the rad fans .
The stock fans are pretty loud , and even with the nf-f12's , the rad is loud , so don't expect miracles if you wanted silence .
I find Clink useable, if you need help with it tell me .
Cheers for the reply! I do find Clink usable but it takes a few things to make it work and I prefer the fanxpert software greatly! Was considering changing fans but that was mostly as I wanted to achieve silence would you say that it is not worth the cost for the the noise reduction?
