I’m running the looking glass host with libvirt on a Debian 10 desktop. I have a Windows 10 guest with a 2080ti GPU. The HDMI output of the 2080 TI is plugged into my monitor. My GNOME Host is displayed by onboard graphics via displayport.
I’m also using rdp from a laptop to log into my guest and start the looking glass host process.
I’m able to see my guest’s desktop when I run the looking glass client, when the guest has a QXL video device. However, my mouse cursor disappears and I’m unable to interact with the guest desktop when I enable capture by pressing the screenlock key. If I switch my monitor to HDMI input, I see a black screen and my mouse cursor. I’m able to move the cursor by moving my mouse. I have a feeling the QXL device is preventing my graphics from going out over HDMI.
If I disable the Red Hat QXL device in device manager and reboot the guest, the 2080TI fails to work properly with an error code 12 ( This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use).
If I change the video device type to 'none'
, the guest does not seem to boot fully. I cannot ping it or connect to it with RDP.
I’m not really sure how to troubleshoot this.
Here is my guest xml
