Hey guys, my brother's looking for a new gaming computer, and after seeing the one I just built run pretty much everything I throw at it better than the consoles, he's leaning hard. So, I'm thinking of building him a mATX or mini-ITX rig for his room/the basement. My rig an an all AMD flavour, but I'm thinking of getting him a Blue and Green flavoured.
The problem is, I don't want it to be insanely underpowered. So I was thinking of getting either a 760 with an i3 if I go the Intel route, but if there will be some problems, I would probably just go to what I know best, AMD.
Help me out here, guys. Is there any bottleneck by coupling these parts? What would be the minimum to have no bottlenecking with an i3, and what would be the minimum to have no bottlenecking with a 760.
Honestly, even he doesn't know. He hasn't touched the 360 in weeks except for Netflix, hence why I went with a relatively mid-range card, so in case he wants to game, he can just open steam and go. But he usually plays GTA and Ass Creed. When GTAV comes out on PC (hopefully), he'll poop his pants.
I think the Core 1000 might be a bit too big for his liking, and even mine. And I don't think it'll fit in our tiny TV stand. I was thinking of the BitFenix Prodigy, one of the Cooler Master cases, or if I'm feeling like spending a nice hunk of change and making it look like a console, a SilverStone RVZ01. Just something that doesn't take up a crap load of room. If I was absolutely gonna go vertical, the biggest I would go with would be the Rosewill Ranger-M, cause colours and square, haha.
Yeah I suppose you have the Cooler Master elite 130, but bear in mind that case has no dust filters, which is why I like Fractal, not sure about the others on the dust filter front
