I'm looking to buy a new graphics card, now I live in Australia where prices are quite abit different than the US. So I'm deciding between these 3:
Sapphire R9 290x Tri-x oc: ($739) Link
Gainward Gtx 780ti Phantom: ($799) Link
EVGA Gtx 780ti SC ACX: ($869) Link
Would love to hear your opinion.
well just go for the 780ti because the 780ti beats the 290x and axz vs gainward i have no clue never had any experience with the coolers. However i do like the customersupport of EVGA
Judging from stock clocks on Pauls Hardware, I'd say the 290x has a the value advantage (my rough calculations say 16% better value in terms of cost of frame per second using BF3 stock clocks @ 1080p), and the Sapphire 290X is pretty good.

The 290x is not better than a 780 ti no matter what anyone says. It was similar in performance with the 780. If you can pick up a 780ti within your budget over a 290X, go for it.
Also OP, The ACX cooler is by far the best cooler out there. The Classified comes with a better VRM and a larger ACX cooler. If you can bight the bullet, Go EVGA
The 780ti is in a tier of its own.
the way i looked at it was.... if your just gaming 1920/1080p monitor/t.v and have the cash go the 780ti, if u dabble in a few other things and want a bit better bang for buck go the r9 290x.
what ever you throw at them, bot these cards will hump it into submission.
GTX 780ti if you want guaranteed superior performance. The only R9 290x that can surpass 780 and scratch the level of 780ti is MSI's R9 290x Lightning, but you have to pay premium price and you have to work at OC'ing that badboy.

Since this topic is more then a month old, and "op" does not seem to be interessted in it. cause he never post a reaction.
So i put a lock on it.
