i would still recommend the r9-290.
simply because it performs slighlty better in most gaming benchmarks that ive seen sofar. + its cheaper.
The R9 290 is a fair bit cheaper in the UK, with comparable performance to the 780 +/-
The cheapest R9 290 that I would recommend is near £305. The cheapest 780 is closer to £350. Easy decision, in my opinion.
3GB vs 4GB doesn't really matter. Vram is balanced with the card.

Well i can get a gtx 780 + watch dogs (gonna buy anyway so may as well factor in) for £340
290 cus of the size of my case probably looking £315 anyway.
Im thinking more towards the 780 because it performs slightly better as well.
Although not really an issue the 4gb of Vram is tempting.
They're both good models of card. I'm happy with my 780. The R9 290 is probably a little better for mods, and it does come with a few free games (never settle forever bundle). Can't go wrong.

Could probably find the ASUS 290 a little cheaper. Though, I don't think it would come with the headset and the customer service that OcUK is offering.
I guess you live in the UK. OCUK sucks, trust me. You can get better service and price from other retails such as amazon or aria. The MSI version is way cheaper.
