I am helping a friend build a pc and he chose the GTX 780. He has all the parts except for the graphics card cause I recommended he wait on the the Nvidia holiday bundle. Now I am wondering with the 780ti release mid next month and the R9 290X tomorrow will this drop the price of the 780? Should I recommend he wait on these two releases to see if the price of the 780 drops or let him finish the build? He may just want to finish cause he has waited this long but just wanted to hear your thoughts.
Yes probably best to wait a little ( especially to see how well that R9 290X overclocks) and there maywell be a drop on the 780 (but it is nivida so it's doubtful)
I would say wait. Would suck to buy it now and the price drop and miss out on a sale by a month.
It's definitely worth waiting to see if any price drops occur. AMD might have a pretty big advantage in games like Battlefield 4. Not sure if that point interests you?
The holiday bundle does look really good. Will be a great start on the Steam library.
