GTX 770 bottleneck with i7 920 CPU?

I'm contemplating a GTX 760 or 770 to upgrade my rig, but I'm not sure if a 770 would be a better choice considering its going to be paired with my older i7 920 CPU. I, of course, do want to also get a 500GB SSD, as well as maybe more ram and a heat sink for my CPU to OC, since I'm using stock. As for the display, I do intend to upgrade once the G-Sync enabled-monitors come out next year, so a GPU upgrade would be prudent.

give that i7 a little OC and go for the 770 I would say the first gen i7 is still a respectable cpu
