Hello everyone, I was just wondering what your results have been while overclocking your GTX 770 4GB. I have found a lot of results for the 2GB variant, so I decided to come here and ask myself to get a better idea of what I should expect out of my GPU.
I currently have the EVGA GeForce GTX 770 4GB Dual SC w/ EVGA ACX Cooler, part number: 04G-P4-3774-KR.
I saw some people reaching +350MHz on the memory clock and +50-70MHz on the core clock. I honestly cannot reach anything like that, it seems my GPU just refuses to do anything, my games constantly crash, even after I bring down the overclock.
I've used MSI Afterburner and EVGA PrecisionX to overclock, I've also used EVGA OC Scanner and that couldnt even make it past the loading screen before it crashed.
Anyways, enough rambling, please post your results because at this point I have given up on this GPU.
So I managed to add 40MHz on the core clock, but I had to turn up the core voltage to the max (+12), and the power limit is at max too (106). I tried adding 50MHz on the memory clock and Witcher 3 crashed so fast. At this point I don't think it's worth it just to get 40MHz extra on the core clock.
Back when I had a 770 it wouldn't go farther than 1250MHZ on the core. Mind you I had the EVGA classified model. But it used to frustrate me cause of Nvidia's GPU boost technology. it was stable at 1250mhz. then GPU boost would make the card unstable by boosting the clocks even further. (GPU Boost 2.0 is random when it boosts, it'll boost the core clock to whatever clocks as long as the temps are low) and it would boost it to 1310 and then the driver would crash.
your best bet is to add voltage and raise the GPU temp target and see if it helps. but then again Nvidia's cards voltages are limited for no reason.
The 770 is a good card if you can get it for cheap. though I have my hatred for Nvidia because of other things. GPU Boost 2.0 is one example from a technical standpoint.
