Hello,
I am looking to buy a new gpu- the 760 or the 670.. They are both the same price therefore the money is not an issue! I will be mostly gaming but will do some editing and rendering from time to time. I may also use fraps in the future so does the h.264 have a dramatic difference between the cards?
I am currently looking at the:
EVGA GTX 760 superclocked acx
and...
Gigabyte GTX 670 Windforce 3X
Thanks, Zac
7950 would have a higher gaming and rendering performance.
If you want an Nvidia card, the 670 has more CUDA cores than the 760. The 670 is currently a litter faster than the 760 at 1080p.
However, the 760's performance should improve with drivers updates. Also, the 760 has faster Vram, which will have a performance benefit in games with detailed textures, which are likely to appear in these upcoming next-gen games.
So that's the trade-off. 760 is probably the better gaming option, and the 670 is a little more of a hybrid.
i think i will go with the 760, hopefully the newer drivers will make it on parr with the 670 for gaming ;)
Thanks a lot :)
For gaming, I happen to think that is the smartest choice. As I said, the faster vram should be beneficial in next-gen games, buffering all the higher textures.
