GTX 760 v. GTX 660 v.?

Hey guys,

My PC recently started bluescreening and crashing. After switching out drivers, windows recovery, and even a new windows install it persisted.

Swapping the GPU with an old one I had laying around seems to have fixed it, so I believe that my GTX 460 has died

Now I was looking for a replacement and the ones I got my eye on are the GTX 660 and GTX 760.

There's a 38€ difference between the Asus GTX 760 DCII OC and the Asus GTX 660 DCII OC.

Do you think the 38€ would be worth the extra performance?

or can anyone suggest another card?

At the same time I would replace my unknown brand 500w PSU with the Corsair CX 750

I'm on a pretty tight budget and wouldn't like to spend any more than 300€

The 760 is better in both performance and value. Here is a comparison of the reference designs of both

Overall the difference is worth it. The 760 performs pretty close to the GTX 670

One other benefit of the 760, is the ability to overclock much higher. Many 760's allow a 12mv voltage boost in addition to having more overclocking headroom. I currently have my card at a max clock speed to 1306.5MHz for the GPU (extra 326MHz on the GPU over reference), and an additional 350MHz memory overclock over reference. Here is a random 3D mark that I ran with my card http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/2321352

The GTX 760 is quite a bit better than a GTX 660.  Go for the 760.

The GTX 660 is not worth it. If you want to save a few bones, and still be able to play just about any game at medium-high settings @ 1080p-- go for the GTX 750 Ti, otherwise the GTX 760 at $219 is well worth it with the recent price cuts. ( i paid 249 for mine before MIR)

Or you could pick up an R9 280 which would beat the 760 easy.
