GTX 760 2GB vs. 4GB?

I am wanting to upgrade my graphics card from a GTX 570sc which is becoming outdated and I'm having trouble with. I want to get a GTX 760 but am not sure if I should get the 2gb or the 4gb version. I am gaming on 1 1080p monitor and do not plan to sli unless I get a better income. I can't afford a 770 or I would do that, but which one is better of the two I listed?

Here are the cards I'm looking at.

2GB is fine for 1080p.

2GB. I don't see the point in the 4GB model, to be honest. It will be a nice upgrade.

If you have the money get the 4GB.

As a long term investment 2GB graphics memory is just starting to become a wee bit slim, but if you don't mind keeping tabs on this when setting up games then 2GB won't exactly be a big limiting factor. Previously it's been up to modded games like Skyrim to bring graphics memory usage above 2GB at 1080p, but now with games like Company of Heroes 2 that can do it on fairly normal settings we might see more of it in the future. Unfortunately we can't rely on games telling us when we're over the limit either, even if they could.

So basically, if I plan on upgrading within the next year and a half to 2 years the 2gb should be good? I can save up for the 4gb but I'd save on the 2gb if I can get what I want. I'm going to be playing Battlefield 4 mainly, if that helps, for the next year at least.

You usually only see a big benefit with more ram on a GPU if your using a multi monitor setup which you are not. Personally if it was me I would get the 4 GB just  because I run multiple monitors but either should be good for what your doing.

Thanks guys, when I get enough saved up I'll go for the 2gb. Like I said, I can and probably will upgrade later if necessary.

If you use your PC just for gaming just use a 2GB GPU

Now if you use your PC for editing and 3D models etc. use the 4GB GPU

The recommended hardware for Battlefield 4 is a graphics card with 3GB or more, but as long as you're willing to keep this factor in check when choosing the settings to play with then yeah it'll be fine with 2GB too.
