GTX 690 Idling hot and fast in Windows 8

While I had windows 7 installed, my GPU would idle around 25-35 degrees (depending on room conditions), GPU idle speeds were around 300MHz.

Now that I have Windows 8 installed, temps around 50 degrees at lidle, speeds won't go below the base clock speed of 915 MHz. Anyone had similar problems with Windows 8? Any tips?

Have you tried updating your gpu drivers? You might still have the windows 7 drivers installed.

I have the latest video drivers installed (314.22 I believe). I downloaded a couple of Windows 8 updates and it LOOKS like it fixed the problem. It also looks like that speeds are still spiking here and there, but it's not enough to bother me.
