P.S. i also need to know if directX 11.1 is compatible with directX 11 only games.

If the two are very similar in price, I'd get the 660 FTW. On single monitor 1080p gaming, you only need 1-2GB of video memory.

Dx 11.1 is just  an updated version of dx11

4Gb is more future proof, since games will use more and more VRAM so get 4gb... Since consoles will have alot of more RAM and greater graphical capability than current gen Xbox 360 PS3 so I would aim for something future proof.

Nothing is future proof in the pc world, technology changes rapidly every year.

By the time you'll actually need 4 GB VRAM for a single monitor set up the GPU will be outdated.

I should say actually need more than 2 GB VRAM for a single monitor set up. Unless you were trying to display on a 4k monitor.
