Gtx 580 sli went kaput

hey guys just want to hear some opinions.

I've been running sli gtx 580s since release but the second one just stopped working. My monitors just went black for a second then blue screen.after many troubleshoot attemptsi think its a hardware problem. i havent changed anything in my system.

when the first and working gpu is by itself everything works fine except the third monitor because 580s can only run two at a time.i switched in the second gpu on the same pci slot using all the same connectors and as soon as the windows loading screen ends it goes blue screen.

Not just any blue screen their lines and artifacting going on.it works in safe mode but that's about it. tried uninstalling and re installing drivers using older drivers and nothing seems to work.

Device manager shows both cards but the second has the yellow triangle with an error code 43.

Quite frankly ive been thinking of getting off sli anyway. i could have continued without a problem with my remaining 580 but i need more then two monitors.which brings me to my question.

i can sell my working 580 to help get a newer gen card.one that can run more then two monitors without having to go sli. ive been thinking of waiting on the aftermarket non reference cards for the new 290.

thoughts?

Thought: Sounds like you need a 780. Or a 7970Ghz.

+1.    or a 780ti

time for a whole new computer

wish i could afford a whole new computer.budget for a new card is $400,so that sweet 780ti is way out of budget unless someone for some reason wants to buy a working and a who knows whats wrong with it 580 for 300 which will never happen lol

r290, 280x, 7970, 770 lots of good option for around & under 400.

yeah im probably gonna wait for non reference 290s, just gotta hope this remaining 580 doesn't off itself as well.

Non-reference R9 290 would be awesome, yup I agree.

Get dual 590s and watercool!!!!!!!!
