Which card would be best for 1440p. the 1070? Or the 1080?
budget? monitor? if you are 144 hz i would go 1080 for the frame rate but you could get buy with around 60-100fps on max settings for most games with a 1070 and 144+ with lower settings.
benchmarks the middle one is 1440

I forgot to incorporate such games as Squad. Where the 1080 is getting 60 fps. This game seems to need all the vram it can. Like 8 gb worth. I world go as far to say that 12gb might help the game if you want to ruin it with stupid stuff like battlefields Destructo physics

I am just iffy on the card reviews right now because reviewers are testing them on doom or tomb raider. I wanna see them test it on something like games that are in the unreal 4 engine where everything is getting pushed. And I know that this game is in pre alpha. But squad, It is still a very demanding title.
A GTX1070 is more then capable enough for 1440P single monitor gaming.
If you ever like to go with a tripple monitor setup or what not, then a GTX1080 might be a better buy.
