Help xD

Just wondering,
what games do you typically play?

The Division, Black Ops 3, Fallout 4, Mad Max, Counter Strike, Doom (New one), Mirror's Edge, GTA V.

At what resolution too? as a 390x is still very good for 1080 max or high end 1440p

Really? Because I get stuttering and dips in 1080p gaming that I have to lower the settings

Really? I have the lower version currently r9 390 (non x) and I play AAA titles at 60+ fps in 1440p maxed out, including

GTA V 50-65fps 1440p maxed w/ 2x scaling (no AA)
Tomb Raider 60fps 1440p with hairworks Maxed

Are you sure you have r9 390x not 380x?

i would personaly just upgrade the gpu firstly.
About the GTX1070 vs 1080, since we dont have seen any performance compairissons between both gpu´s.
We cannot realy say how well the GTX1070 does in compairisson to its bigger brother, since the GTX1070 isnt out yet.

Absolutely sure. The pricetag was not one of a 380 xD Also reasoning for upgrading the processor was video rendering >.<

Fair enough xD

Weird as I have no issues personally, but I also have 5820k so whether that is helping me in my particular games

if your going to upgrade and change over to nvida 980TI all the way. the 1080 is a joke in its reference form aka founders edition. in my eyes its the 290x launch all over again.

if i had the money burning a hole in my pocket i would tell my self to chill and wait on polaris 10 or vega/navi before buying this time around. nvida released first with a paper launch because there scared as hell at the moment. so lets see what made them scared before we buy.i know i will plus you will be upset when the 1080TI launches and gives you buyers remorse.

Do you already have a 4k or 1440p 144hz display?

you have some issue somewhere if your 390X can't max games at 1080p, and if you only have a 1080p display upgrading your GPU would be pointless.

Just save your money for an X99 based system if you do a lot of video work
