Hello, I just wanted to know if the i5-4460 will bottleneck the GTX 1060? I currently have a GTX 960 and I want to upgrade it for Christmas. ( I am looking for 60fps at 1080p on most games)
Nope, it won't bottleneck in most situations.
You will be fine.
It would only limit to a point where you would have to run benchmark comparisons against a stronger CPU in CPU bound games to see a difference, it's not something you will feel in day to day operation.
If you don't already have an adaptive sync display I'd go for an RX 470 man, would save you money in the future with free-sync vs G-sync
otherwise only get a 6gb 1060 at least
Sure, go for it but only the 6GB version. The 3GB is slightly slower because has less CUDA cores. Not many games at all are CPU bound so you're not going to bottleneck the card 99.9% of the time.
Thanks for the help guys :DDD
As long as you're not shooting for 120hz or 144hz refresh rate, otherwise, it'll be a huge bottleneck.
