GTA V PC Rockstar Social Club is Garbage (Rantish)

Sorry if this is the wrong section, I'm not sure if it's more suited for a different section because it's about Rockstar Social Club, or this one because it's about PC gaming.

This morning I felt like playing some more GTA V on my PC, so I load it up, and the launcher does it's thing.

Then it stops and tells me I have to log in again; so I do, and it tells me my information is wrong.
Well that's weird, caps isn't on, my username doesn't have a typo, and I'm sure I typed my password correctly.
To avoid any errors in my password, I typed it into a notepad and copy/pasted it into the login, still wrong.

Odd. I'll try the rockstar social club site to be sure I'm not hacked like many others. I load it up and I'm already logged in, so I log out and log right back in - with the same copy/pasted password from earlier. Even more strange, it worked, but the launcher didn't.
Well, it says "Nickname/Email", so I'll try my social club email. Nope, still "wrong"...

I googled Rockstar's customer service number, because they've hidden it on their website. They tell me to screenshot it and send it to them via email, so I do this, and over 12 hours later I still can't play this game because of the broken login.

Now I'm locked out of my own account because I've logged in "wrong" too many times, and it's been locked for at least 8 hours. What the hell, Rockstar.
This is the first problem I've had with GTA V since it launched, and it seems I'm the only one having it.

So I can't play a game that I intended to play OFFLINE that I paid $70 for, because of an issue that is completely nonsensical.

Random side thought: People get PISSED when a Ubisoft game on steam makes you log in through uPlay as well as Steam, why is no one making a fuss about this Rockstar social club login? Am I just missing the posts everywhere about it? It's not like R*SC is known to be good, it was garbage in GTA IV, and it's obviously still not that great now.

its a bad thing when publishers make you crack games you legally own...
what do they get with the stupid DRM stuff? maybe a few days before somebody cracks it...
but they lose a lot of people who didnt buy it because of that DRM bullshit

I think everyone is more upset about the paid mods thing going on right now.

Personally I think valve needs to crack down on this shit: if your game is going to be on steam, then steam is your only method of authentication. No going off to your servers or adding your own launcher. If you want that, then you can handle distribution yourself

I want to agree with you. But that ultimatum would probably make all the bigger developers pull their games and use their own drm. It'll make gaming a whole mess. Having to launch a new, shitty, drm for every game in your library. It's almost as bad as how ubisoft and ea tried to push their drm on to the ps3/360. You actually had to stop playing your game, get on your computer, go on their website, and make an account so you could enjoy the multiplayer features. Isn't using xbl or psn enough?

Sorry to hear the problem. About the dual login issue though, I bough mine from Rockstar to side step steam. Only one login.

It's been over 24 hours and I'm still locked out of my own account and Rockstar hasn't replied, this is ridiculous.

When I launch the game with no internet connection, the game launcher says "XinwxHleak signed in (Offline)" but also forces it to check if I actually own it on their servers.
Why even HAVE the offline mode in the launcher if it still checks the servers?

If you have a Twitter account you can ask them to check your support ticket by giving them the ticket number, they're usually good about getting on it right then and there. You can also do this at their support site but they dont respond as quickly. My problem has been crashing to desktop all the time....

It has been 4 days and they still haven't done anything.
@HarbingerOne I do have a twitter account, though I don't use twitter at all. I'm sure it isn't all too hard, but IMO Rockstar should be able to handle their own tickets and not have to rely on a social media service in order to stay on top of their issues.

I'm going to deal with Steam/Valve about this if nothing is done by friday, this is completely unacceptable. I know they are way WAY worse with their tickets, but maybe letting Rockstar know that is what I'm planning on doing will speed things up.

Go into the community section on their main website and do a post there mentioning your ticket number. You'll get a quicker response.

Thank you all for your input.
@Zavarrr posting in the community section did speed it up, and I can finally play again.

My friend bought me GTA V the other week. It's not that bad of a game and can be fun, but the rock star social menus are utter garbage. Joining the same game server as your friends takes forever. You have to go through the ridiculous long loading time to join your on server before you even get the option to join your friends. It's basically 30% loading times and 70% game play if you try to play with a few friends online. It just makes me so angry when it you are sitting through a long loading screen just so you can click join friends and are then sent to another loading screen.

Am I just blind and don't see any logical options to join friends without spending half my life in loading screens?

Hopefully they allow mods eventually but who knows.

I would absolutely love if they did this, I lost my windows live bull crap account. I installed a few old games a while back and realized when I started them up I didn't even have full access to the games because I had forgotten my windows live or whatever it's called.
