gt640 4gb

Hi i found a gpu from msi the msi n640-4gd3.

I know there are better cards but i my powersupply is not powerful enough for a better card like the 650ti boost or something.

I saw from a guy on youtube that he could run games like far cry 3 on high settings or battlefield.

My question is has anyone experience with this card or other low-end card that have 4gb ram ?

Pointless; you willnever use that much VRAM, and having such a large cache to buffer can slow down the card any,ay.

What PSU do you have? Most likely, it can handle any single GPU.

he might have a prebuilt with now PCIE 6/8pins connectors.

and no- 4 gigs of VRAM in a low end card is stupid. its a selling gimmick, the 640 doesn't have the pixel rate to fill 4 gigs.

a 7990 in a modded game with 4K textures on a 4K screen? yeah. sure. a 640? It'll burst into flames and explode first.

I'd suggest getting a better PSU if yours isn't good enough to handle the extra draw of a 650ti. a *good* 430 watt (which will handle most basic computers) is around $50 for a modular and $40 for a non-mod.

Brennan will try to tell you a 360 watt will handle any single card set up, but I think he forgets things like hard drives, disk dives (if you HAVE to have one.) and the little draws like fans and RAM.

here are my sytem specs.  https://www.dropbox.com/s/ocp02evul66q04i/pc%20specs.docx

i would like to upgrade but i must wait util may 2013. now i have not enough money but anyway

i just wanted to know if its good but it looks like you dont recommend this card.

A HD7750 would be a much better option as its low power and can still provide respectable perfromace.

I approve.

I've got a 640 2gb from evga lying around.

I'll sell for $60 plus s/h, it's 1 year old 1 week ago, if you are set on a 640.

If you can give a budget, i'm sure some solutions can be made.
