Greetings And Salutations To One And All...

…And To Those Whom Could Be Concerned Less.

'Tis been quite sometime since I myself have been active within the Community here.
For those of you who know me, welcome, as I’ve missed truly each and every one of you.
For those who’re not so familiar with me personally:
The Editor In Chief Of The Unixverse, formerly The Presidential Nominee Of The Universe, I extend to you my warmest greetings within the Community here on behalf of our Benefactor and all Staff Members (“Did you really think I was going to hand type all of those names?”) past and present, in whom none of this domain in which we call Community would be possible.

Meanwhile, in related news: I cannot recall the number of comments, let alone other Communities I’ve been active in since my UseNet days from ancient times as judged by the speed in which Work Wide Web has matured. Currently an active Member in the XDA Developers Community and such just as easily Googled by the Username alone.

P.s.-Eh…do forgive my idle ramblings of the finger flapping type.
And henceforth, Josephus Duncan Constantinus is at the services of One and All.

P.s.s.-Long rabble-rousing story made short…
…Eh, I’m still contemplating what words to fill in here.
Dot, dot, dot.

And greetings to You The Reader (plural) in turn.

P.s.-One or the other of you would not perhaps have some pointers as to what secretly secret mechanism is required to remove previously read Notifications now, would you chaps?
As there definitely appears to be no discernible means I so doing on the mobile version or desktop version of the site.

They dont go away they just stop being gray (assuming dark mode)

Ah, thanks for the heads-up mate. I prefer a much cleaner, Spartan interface, yet if the website developers hard coded it this way, then so shall it be.

Sorry I haven’t replied. Just looking for something good to reply with. Here we go. How I roll.

so miss the newsgroups

Heh, heh, heh… I knew this Community was going to be the same longterm Community that stood the test of time even from the first day it was conceived.

So I’ve noticed. I can’t believe how much information is so readily available within the Community at large. Even the SEO value via search is respectable, all matters concerned.

P.s.-Thanks to you, @FaunCB and whomever else responsible for curtailing that post restriction prematurely by the way. Lest I be remiss in my manners of gratitude.

@Wendell: Whilst I’m at it, is there a particular setting site wise that I’m missing that would allow me to add a signature below my username?

moderators assign them when you ask

My kindest thank you. I believe that shall be my next quick endeavor.

Those actually aren’t a thing, I think @kewldude007 is thinking of something else. Maybe the titles next to usernames?

If you look in the FAQs, it asks that people not sign posts under the “Keep it Tidy” heading.

Title would more than likely be the more accurate statement, yes.
In either case, I assume the above needs to be addressed by a Staff Member nonetheless, yes?

Meanwhile, in related news: I shall be off to corrupt this Bot you mention in order to teach it proper manners. After all, Discobot’s went out of style in the 80’s.

Welcome to our community.
