the rad is about 5 years old the new pump is sitting on my desk waiting to be installed and the tubing is also about 5 years old but still fine
the nearest computer parts store is about 2 hours away
Assuming your vehicle doesn't guzzle fuel it should be worth your while to go over there!
the xspc raystorm reviews as a very close second place in every review i have read
five year old tubing?? does it feel granular to the touch? if so it is releasing the platicizers
durelene tubing is pvc and stands up well ten foot is $6.00
I doubt it. I've noticed it's almost always about $50 less to buy expensive parts in the US and ship to AUS than to buy locally.
Nope still perfect. plus i still have about a meter left over that I didnt need last time.
Was thinking about getting a new rad but have nowhere to mount it internally And dont want to mount it externally.
what case are you using?
Its an old thermaltake armor case that I cant even find on their discontinued list. it has room to mount 2 fans, 4 if you take out the harddrive bays
It's actually a pretty cool looking case, but nowdays the functionality is slightly lacking, plus it weighs almost 10kg's when empty.
EDIT: It's actuall closer to 15kgs
What are you planning on using the PC for?
gaming, game developement (I use Unity3D), small amount of video rendering. But for me to bother upgrading it will need to be noticably better than my Intel® Core™ i7-2600 eight core OC'd to 4.4Ghz
That i7 2600k is fine! You don't need an upgrade.
It wasn't really for an upgrade the CPU is being borrowed from another computer and needs to be replaced. So I needed to buy another CPU anyway. Go with the same or do you recomend something else?
If you can wait a few month, I would recommend waiting until Haswell releases in full force. It isnt really about the Haswell chips as much as it is about the z87 motherboards.
If not, just get a 3570k which will be fine for anything you need, especially if you have a good graphics card. (especially one with CUDA cores)
Tim
Well I don't really have the money for a CPU and a mobo ATM (not to mention the fact that i don't have and ssd or a great video card yet) plus my mobo is relatively new. But the 3570k seem to fair pretty well in all circumstances so that sounds like a good idea.
